Candy Houses

 

Supplies:

2 small pint size milk cartons, dry
Masking tape
Styrofoam meat tray
Hershey bar, M&Ms, licorice, gumdrops, pretzels
chocolate chips, lifesavers, hard Christmas candy

Frosting:

2 lb powdered sugar
2 tsp cream of tartar
6 well-beaten egg whites

 

How to:

  1. Tape cartons closed securely.
  2. Tape cartons to meat tray (should be covered with plastic wrap or aluminum foil).
  3. Mix frosting until smooth and easy to spread.
  4. Frost milk carton and trim with a variety of candies. Hershey squares can form a stone walkway. Gumdrops, M&Ms, etc., outline windows, doors, roof. Candy cane or thick pretzel makes a good chimney.
  5. This frosting dries as hard as plaster (but is edible for little nibblers).
