Pilgrim Hat and Buckles
To make each hat, you'll need 2 or 3 large sheets of black construction paper. Ahead of time, cut out a 5" and a 1/2" horizontal strip across the width of the paper. Cut a large circle for the brim.
When you are ready to assemble the hat, cut a smaller circle from the center of the brim to fit your child's head. Cut tabs on the brim by snipping in 1/2" all the way around the inside of the circle. Fold tabs up and tape them to the 5" strip to make the hat.
To make each set of buckles, cut out three 2" x 3" cardboard rectangles. Then cut out two small squares from each rectangle, leaving a center strip. Paint the buckles silver or cover with aluminum foil. Attach one buckle to hat using the 1/2" strip. Tie extra buckles onto child's shoes.
